Culture/Literature Artifacts
Fr 4160 French for International Business
This paper describes a business I invented named Bon L'eau. It it centered around Togo and the needs of the country. Bon L'eau is a company that involves helping with water and sanitation. It allowed me to incorporate healthcare aspects, and nonprofit work through the business I created. I learned a lot about business aspects in France and the steps towards creating a proper business.
Fr 4090 Writing in French II
Through this course I have been able to express my creativity in many ways. In this particular story the prompt was to explain a smell that brought out a memory. I explained a smell that reminded me of my grandmother. I have been able to enhance my vocabulary through the writings as well as learn how to convey emotion. These are skills that can be used in everyday communication in French and more professional writings.
Linguistic Artifacts
Fr 4160 French for International Business
Soleil À Lune is a paper about a business I actually created . Some parts of this paper include the process I took to start my business, while other ideas are simply how I could furhter the business in a French aspect. This paper truly allowed me to enhance my French vocabulary. I learned many business terms, which are not only beneficial to know for business endeavors, but also for living in France. This is knowledge I will be able to use in the future.
Fr 4090 Writing in French II
This class allowed me to write stories in whatever genre with any topic. It allowed me to express my creative side in French. This was very beneficial in increasing my French vocabulary and grammar. I wrote a story that conveyed the reality of life and human behavior in a fictional way. This assignment was beneficial and made me a better writer, which can be used in my career.
Health Science Artifacts
HLTH 2400 Determinants of Health
This was the very first Literature Review I wrote. I focused on the health benefits of being a vegetarian as an adolesent. The paper was centered around the models of health behavior. I was able to capture what I was learning in class and apply it to a particular topic that interested me. Having so much to research for each section of the paper I strengthened my time management. I learned how certain policies in schools effect adolescent diets.
HLTH 4310 Environmental Health
This literature review focuses microplastics in the ocean and the effects on marine life to human life. Throughout this paper I found that there was not much research on how microplastics effected humans after consumption of the material. It pushed me to deepen my research and open the paper to include insight on how microplastics found there way into marine life. I was able to enhance my research skills, which will be used quite a lot in policy work. It challenged me to find details that were not on the surface of every search.
